Les Carroz Transfer from €45
Dropped off at your door in Les Carroz
Mountain Drop-offs offers door to door transfers from Geneva Airport to Les Carroz, but sshhh, don't tell everyone about this charming ski resort!
The beauty of Les Carroz, which sits mid-way between Chamonix and Geneva, is that it is barely an hours' drive from the airport and a mere 15 minutes up the mountain from the 'Autoroute Blanche' motorway, yet offers direct and easy access to the heart of the Grand Massif ski area.
And once you arrive in Les Carroz you'll soon realise it's small enough to care, yet big enough to have all the facilities you need. In particular it is an excellent choice for families, especially those with young children. And with infant and toddler seats possible on all our transfer vehicles, getting the whole family to Les Carroz is child's play with Mountain Drop-offs.

Skiing in the sunshine - that's Les Carroz!
Les Carroz (or Les Carroz d'Araches to give the resort its proper name) is an authentic Savoyard mountain village sitting on a sunny plateau at 1140m on the road to Flaine. Skiing actually started here in 1936, with the inauguration of the first drag lift, which was, apparently, the longest in Europe at the time!
Since then, the ski area has grown, with a big surge in chalets, hotels and apartments being built in the 1950s and again a spurt in the 1990s. There are no huge blocks in Les Carroz and the ambiance is very much more relaxed and chilled out. And although it's certainly not a party town, there is just enough to keep everyone entertained both on and off the slopes, with friendly locals too (the permanent population is around 1700).
As for the skiing, we have to admit it's not the most challenging, but it is perfect for families and in particular children, whether they are literally taking their first steps in ski boots, trying to master snowploughing or progressing to parallel skiing. And we must mention the Sarbotte home-run - it's a true tree-lined delight and offers easy end of the day skiing back to resort.
That's not to say Les Carroz is only suitable for kids and beginners - far from it in fact, as simply taking the main Kedeuze bubble lift up from resort takes you directly to the Tete des Saix, the centre point of the whole Grand Massif ski area, in just six minutes. From here you can test yourself on the steeps of Flaine, or go for a thigh-burner of a run all the way down to Morillon to give you just two options.
Getting to and from the lifts is effortless as well. The bubble lift is above the village centre up a steep hill, but there are free shuttle buses that circulate around the different areas of resort (namely Carroz Centre - Carroz East - Carroz West) including taking you to the bottom of the lift. And although there is a lot of parking in and around resort, these car parks do get saturated at peak times, so you're still better off getting Mountain Drop-offs to pick you directly from outside arrivals at the airport in Geneva and taking you straight to the door of your accommodation in Les Carroz.
Investing for the future in Les Carroz
A lot of effort, thought and money has been invested in making the beginner ski areas of Les Carroz accessible and more comfortable too. Drag lifts have been replaced with really nifty covered magic carpets, with Tele Carroz designed to take both skiers and pedestrians up and down, in order to ease access on foot to and back down from the departure station of the gondola. The other covered carpet lift Tele Ecole gives access to the sledging area too.
Along with an increase in the number of snow cannons, ground works to make pistes larger and a new not-too-gnarly snow park, boarder cross and parallel slalom area called the Cool Zone, recent and continuing developments and investments ensure les Carroz stays on top of its game when it comes to being a lovely little ski resort.
And one of the largest projects in resort in recent times is Aquacime, a superb pool and spa centre that's open both winter and summer seasons. Inside is a lovely pool with jacuzzi bays, sauna, steam rooms and hamman, whilst outside is a swimming pool that's heated to 32 degrees even in winter. The views of the snowy pistes and mountain summits will take your breath away as you put in a few lenghts of front crawl whilst the snow is falling. It's open every day in season from 14:00-20:00 for the perfect apres-ski chill out.
So not only is Les Carroz a superb little family-favourite winter ski resort, it's also a really nice place to head to in the summer. There are miles and miles of signposted hiking paths, mountain biking trails, canyoning, pot holing and loads more besides. So if you fancy a trip over to see the cows and goats grazing on the grassy slopes you skied down in winter, Mountain Drop-offs will organise a private transfer for you to Les Carroz - and you can even bring your bikes with you on our services.
